Fresh Floral Workshop: Centerpiece Arrangements with Shelby Doyle of Ida Flora Detroit

Sunday May 12th from 2:30-5:30pm

Entry Level Class—No experience necessary, however you must be 14 or older

Brace yourself for a floral extravaganza! Flower whisperer, Shelby Doyle, is set to unveil the secrets of crafting a lush centerpiece, using an eclectic mix of blooms and foliage that she's grown herself.

Sip on mimosas and get creative while Shelby guides you through the design basics of floral arranging and centerpiece building. You'll be guided through two different mechanics for making a full, natural looking centerpiece using an array of unique blooms and foliage. We'll also review techniques to encourage long-vase life and flower preservation methods.

Shelby will share her tips and tricks for composing arrangements with color, texture, and personal style. We'll also learn more about her flower farm in Detroit, her favorite flowers, and where she sources her gorgeous supplies.

Everyone will take home their own unique centerpiece in a perfect vessel!

About the Instructor:

Shelby is a farmer-florist based in Detroit, MI. She has found a home with Beaverland Farms where she grows an abundance of blooms and designs through her own business, Ida Flora Detroit. She believes in working with your natural environment and appreciates the emotional connection we have to flowers. She can often be found covered in dirt, mesmerized by the depth of color found in nature.
